Und die Wii wird als erstes bedient...

Als Capcom im Spätsommer 2008 den neunten Teil der Hauptserie von Mega Man unter anderem für WiiWare herausbrachte, haben sie damit einen Herzenswunsch vieler Fans erfüllt. Denn anstatt mit der Zeit zu gehen, drehten sie die Uhr etwa 20 Jahre zurück und setzten das Spiel im klassichen 8-Bit-Stil um. Außerdem sah Mega Man neun nicht nur dem ersten Teil auf dem NES ähnlich, es fühlte sich auch genauso an. Wie gesagt, ein Fest für die Fans der ersten Stunde. Und dieser Schritt war so erfolgreich, dass Capcom für dieses Jahr bereits Teil 10 angekündigt hat, der im gleichen Stil gehalten ist und somit wieder dieselbe Zielgruppe ansprechen soll.

Bislang war nur bekannt, dass das Spiel dieses Jahr erscheinen soll, nun wissen wir es genauer. Laut einer Presseinfo des Publishers wird Mega Man 10 als erstes auf WiiWare erscheinen und zwar schon am 1. März. Da die Meldung nichts über das Gebiet verrät, müssen wir allerdings leider davon ausgehen, dass damit der Launch in den USA gemeint ist, denn dort erscheinen neue Download-Titel immer montags, während wir jeden Freitag an der Reihe sind. Es wird also wohl noch etwas länger dauern, bis wir in den Genuss des Spiels kommen, allerdings kam der neunte Teil weltweit innerhalb einer Woche für WiiWare heraus, so dass es bei uns schon am Freitag derselben Woche, also am 5. März soweit sein könnte. Abwarten ist allerdings mal wieder die Devise...

Doch neben dem Datum gibt es noch ein paar neue Infos zu einigen Waffen, die im Spiel vorkommen werden. Bevor ich euch den Originaltext von Capcom dazu zeigen, zunächst einmal zwei Bilder:

• Commando Bomb: After launching the Commando Bomb, press up or down on the + Control Pad to make it turn at a 90 degree angle. The blast spreads horizontally (or vertically) and follows the contours of the landscape. This can be used to break through certain walls to get hidden items!
• Wheel Cutter: Press the Attack Button once to attach the Wheel Cutter to your arm, and press the Attack Button again to launch it (it follows the contours of the landscape). You can launch it 3 times and it’s effective to attack enemies at a distance. You can attach the Wheel Cutter to your arm and dart at enemies!
• Triple Blade: You can fire tri-directional blades and attack multiple enemies at one time. There are two patterns: surface-to-air on the ground, and air-to-surface in mid-jump.
• Thunder Wool: You can launch a thunder cloud that slowly rises and a lighting bolt shoots straight down from the cloud.
• Solar Blaze: Splits apart and launches firebombs (left and right) after a set period of time. Effective when you are pinned between two enemies.
• Chill Spike: Launch a freezing liquid which flies in a parabolic trajectory. An enemy hit by the freezing liquid will freeze and become unable to move.
• Rebound Striker: You can throw a rubber super ball straight and diagonally up or down. As it gets faster and stronger with each successive bound, you can build up power and hit the target to inflict maximum damage!
• Water Shield: A rotating shield of water surrounds Mega Man. Pressing the Attack Button once more deactivates the water shield and hurls high-speed drops of water that spiral outward.
